  • They shall not be found with folded-up dothi and unbuttoned shirt in the class rooms or in the college premises, except when they have been called upon to do some sort of physical labour.
  • They shall wish every member of the staff the first time they see him or her during the day.
  • They shall stand up when a member of the staff or a visitor enters their class room and shall remain standing till the member of the staff or visitor has taken seat or desired them to sit.
  • When they leave a class room they shall do so quietly, silently and in order and always allow the women students to leave first. Crowding at the doorway, shouting, entering or leaving the class room through the windows and such other acts of indiscipline will be severely dealt with.
  • At the beginning of the hour they shall wait for the teacher in perfect silence.
  • Before regular work begin in the forenoon, during the noon recess and during the working hours they shall not loiter about the college premises. They must be found either in the class room or in the reading rooms unless they have been asked to be elsewhere for some legitimate activity.
  • During the meetings of the Union and the affiliated Association strict discipline must be maintained. When the speaker or a guest or a member of the staff enters, all the students assembled shall stand up. When a meeting is in progress, no student shall leave the hall, except for emergent and unforeseen causes. If a student cannot attend the whole course of a meeting, he must obtain in advance the permission of the Vice-President concerned to leave the hall, for any reason whatsoever, in the middle of an address or a talk which is being delivered by a visitor or a member of the staff.
  • Students shall not be found in the verandah of the office unless they have some business to transact and when they are there for transacting business they shall observe strict discipline.
  • The first thing that a student does when he goes to see a member of the staff is to greet him. A student, who fails to observe this rule of elementary courtesy, will not be talked to by the teacher. He must leave the room, come again and wish the teacher if his presence has to be recognised.
  • Students are forbidden from entering any laboratory or store room except with the permission of the lecturer in charge of it.
  • Furniture should not be dislocated or disfigured with writings.
  • All serious or wilful damage to college property will have to be paid for together with such penalty as may be imposed by the Principal.
  • Any disfigurement or damage done to college buildings, premises, gardens etc. (such as writing on the walls, breaking window panes and flower pots, cutting plants or plucking out flowers) will be severely dealt with.
  • Students are warned against participation in a) any agitation directed against constituted authority, b) any meeting likely to excite disloyalty or disaffection towards the government, c) any movement likely to promote communal ill-feeling.
  • They should not present mass petition to the Principal or any higher authority.
  • They should not address any gathering within the premises of the college without the special permission of the Principal except the meeting of the various associations.
  • No student should appear for an interview or an examination without the previous permission of the Principal.
  • Office bearers of the Union and the affiliated associations should observe the rules of conduct strictly and do their best to see that they are observed by the rest. Any office bearer who is found to be repeatedly violating these rules will be removed from the office he holds and will not be eligible to stand for any election thereafter.
  • No student shall absent himself from a class without applying for leave. Absence during the hour in a session causes loss of attendance for that session (.ie., half a day).
  • Application for leave should be made in the prescribed form to the Principal through the tutor by the student in person beforehand except in unavoidable and unforeseen circumstances when the application should be made not later than the day of his return to the college. (Format of leave application given below)
Disciplinary action will be taken against those who repeatedly absent themselves on insufficient grounds.
The annual attendance certificate will not be granted unless the student has put in 75% of the total number of working days.
Conduct Certificate is a document which the student has to EARN. It will not be issued as matter of course. (Format of application for TC/Conduct certificate are given elsewhere)
